Letters [manuscript]. 1927-1928.

Three letters with ink illustrations (of horses and riders) written by Lambert to Venour Nathan, dated 14 January 1927, 17 January 1928 and the 13 September 1928. In the second letter Lambert thanks Nathan for his congratulations and in the third, Lambert refers to a visit which did not eventuate as "the Henry Lawson memorial has me absolutely chained"

Artist. Born at St Petersburg (Leningrad) fourth child of George Washington and Annie Matilda Lambert (nee Firth). Won 1899 Wynne prize for "Across the Black Soil Plains". In 1900 he won a travelling art scholarship. From 1917 to 1920 he held an appointment as an official war artist, A.I.F., which resulted in a a series of sketches and large pictures of battles.
